5. Q: Is there a way to get a cassette or CD of a song I've written to Kathy?
A: All recordings will be delivered to Kathy. Make sure you send copies only....we cannot return your work. Kathy will listen to your songs but she cannot respond personally with critiques, evaluations or suggestions.
6. Q: Is there a place to buy accompaniment tapes, sheet music or lyrics of some of Kathy's songs?
A: To the best of my knowledge only three songbooks from her recordings have been published. They are: Collection of Hits, Walking Away a Winner and Good News. These are published by Hal Leonard and are long out-of-print. I've seen them occasionally on eBay and other online auction sites. Individual sheet music was also published for many of her hit songs. They too are out-of-print and very hard to come by. Lyrics can be found in the booklets that accompany the CDs. They are also found on lyric web sites on the Internet. Accompaniment tapes are difficult if not impossible to find. My best suggestion is to do a Google Search on Mattea + accompaniment. None of these things are available for purchase through the web site or the fan club.
7. Q: What's Kathy's live concert like?
A: Kathy's live show is a wonderful thing to experience. It is a great mix of the old and the new (Right Out of Nowhere) with terrific surprises thrown in. She usually takes requests, so come prepared to shout 'em out. The second half features an acoustic set that you will totally love! Now, the Christmas shows feature half the regular show, with the second half being the Christmas gig. She also does Symphony shows from time to time. Her band is amazing...you will remember the experience for a LONG time! Go if you can---
8. Q: Where does Kathy live? Is she married?
A: Kathy and her husband Jon Vezner live in Nashville.
9. Q: Is there a way to obtain some of Kathy's older recordings?
A: Many of the earliest recordings Kathy made with Mercury are out-of-print. Check the mattea.com store. If they don't have it, I would suggest eBay, or similar auction sites. Several Internet record stores also carry new and used copies of her older work. Feel free to write if you need help.
10. Q: How do I arrange getting some memorabilia or signed items for my charity auction?
A: It seems that these charity auctions are the fundraising method of choice. Absolutely everyone is doing them. We receive many more of these requests than we can fill. If you wish to be considered, send your request many months in advance, on your charity letterhead to the fan club. They will be forwarded on to Kathy's management. If you are asking for signed photos, please send a self-addressed, stamped envelope (at least $1.06 postage.
